| Open Letter to The TBOA Membership |

| I'm please to announce I have just received word that
our own, TBOA Board Member Linda Lichtenberger of Metro Codes -
Nashville has been appointed the new Codes Enforcement Program Director
for The Tennessee State Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy. She will
begin her new job on June 16,2008 |

| I congratulate Linda. She is one of us. But I also
want to ask the membership to join me in helping Linda remain fully
aware of our needs as code officials. Knowing Linda and how she has
always been willing to help TBOA,ICC, Region 8 and MTCOA - and knowing
her often demonstrated keen interest in code official training and
education, I am confident she will make a splendid and effective
transition and addition to the TFACA campus. |

| Our Academy is a great asset to inspectors throughout
the state and is ready to be better utilized by all of us. As TFACA's
new Codes Enforcement Director, Linda will most likely travel to chapter
meetings, seeking member comments and input. I encourage you to
take this responsibility seriously and provide your best, most
constructive suggestions, that will enable her to effectively work
towards beneficial change. None of this will happen overnight - but
without our suggestions as the beneficiaries of the Academy, the process
will take longer. |

| When the Academy first opened it's doors, our friend
Denny Boss served as it's first director and did an excellent job
of developing and delivering needed training. I feel certain Linda will
step in and pick up right where Denny left off in providing educational
opportunities to our membership. |

| Again I congratulate Linda - and wish her the best in
her new position. |
